Unlike most of the rental companies at the Beach, Sea Aire Rentals and Vacation Homes is a full service, owner-operated business. Here you deal directly with the owner of the company and the properties -- not just someone’s “agent”. We intentionally keep our rental inventory low so we keep our maintenance high and our service exceptional.
Sea Aire Rentals and Vacation Homes was started in 1995 by Jeff Wilson. Originally from West Virginia, Jeff moved to Myrtle Beach and began a career as a successful trim carpenter. Specializing in high-end staircases and millwork, Jeff was in high demand throughout Myrtle Beach’s booming luxury market. Some of the highlights include being called in the for the remodel of the Augusta National Golf Course club house (site of the Master’s!), many ocean-front, million dollar homes and having some of his work featured in magazines such as Southern Living and South Carolina Homes and Gardens.
One of the first people Jeff met when he moved to the beach was a legend in North Myrtle Beach -- Dr. Maxcy O’Tuel. Maxcy was one the true originals who started purchasing the old beach houses surrounding Ocean Drive and marketing them to students and others who came to the beach for more than just a vacation. Since the 1960s, literally thousands of students and young people have stayed in Maxcy’s beach homes.
In 1995, after Maxcy’s untimely death, Jeff joined forces with Dr. Muriel O’Tuel -- Maxcy’s widow and started managing the Sea Aire Apartments. From there, Jeff expanded into student vacation rentals and the rest, as they say, is history.
Since our founding in 1995, we have consistently provided students, families, church groups and other organizations a clean, welcoming, comfortable place to stay at the beach. Our homes have all been recently updated -- or fully remodeled -- and feature modern kitchens and baths, hardwood and tile floors, nicely appointed interiors, and fresh landscaping.
